Job Description: Assistant Solicitor

The Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office seeks prosecutors to work within the state’s only five-circuit judicial circuit. Newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be able to work as part of a team, be organized, exercise sound judgment, be able to prioritize workload and assignments, and possess excellent communication skills.

Minimum Education and Experience: Applicants must have already graduated from an accredited law school or anticipate graduation. Applicants must already be admitted to the practice of law before the courts of record in South Carolina or anticipate bar admission in the near future. Applicants must be an active member of the bar and in good standing with the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Our office is the chief prosecuting agency for Allendale, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties. Our primary role is to prosecute all cases in General Sessions Court, certain misdemeanors in Magistrate’s Court and all criminal cases in Family Court. Each year, we prosecute more than 5,000 new cases.

Salary will commensurate with experience.
