Forensic Evidence Course

December 6 - 9, 2021

Due to Demand and Limited Capacity, NDAA is now accepting names for our Waitlist.

Thank you for your interest in the Forensic Evidence Course! Due to safety concerns we are limiting the number of attendees and the course is now full. If you would like to be added to a wait list, please email Project Coordinator Logan Kilduff at lkilduff@ndaajustice.org.

Please Note: 1) We are monitoring the latest CDC guidance for COVID-19 along with state and local guidance and this schedule is subject to change accordingly. 2) Additionally, we know Hurricane Ida impacted this area greatly and we are also monitoring this.

The Forensic Evidence Course is designed with the entire prosecution team in mind! The challenges facing prosecutors, local law enforcement, and investigators in prosecutors’ offices as well as laboratory professionals managing this evidence, seem to be increasing exponentially with the use by defendants of 21st century sources of evidence. With the variety of forensic evidence that must be collected, processed and retained appropriately, as well as complexities that are inherent with increased technology and scientific acumen, we see an amplified need to spread cutting edge education, effective investigative , and pretrial and trial strategies to professionals within the criminal justice system . This course provides a collaborative learning environment to ensure justice in our communities.

In addition to foundational topics for those new to working with these complex cases we also have planned lectures focusing on:

Tentative Topics:

  • DNA and Investigative Genetic Genealogy
  • Ethical Issues In Cases with Multiple Type of Forensic Evidence
  • Cross Examination of the DNA Expert
