Webinar
2:00 pm – 3:30 pm ET
January 22, 2021
Hosted by the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) in partnership with the Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN)
Prosecutors play a pivotal role in connecting people with substance use disorders to community treatment and expansion of innovative diversion programs nationwide. Prosector-led programs provide opportunities to reduce the demand on the justice system, prioritize treatment and access to care, and offer data-driven solutions to reduce substance use and improve public safety. The COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated these challenges, with increased pressure to develop innovative approaches to support individuals and minimize the risk of exposure.
This webinar will focus on diversion best practices, including evidence-based strategies and practical applications and key elements of successful diversion initiatives. Presenters will discuss the latest research and innovations around diversion to treatment and improving access to substance use disorder services, including medications for addiction treatment (MAT), behavioral interventions, and establishing linkages to community-based support services.
