Who We Are

As the oldest and largest association of prosecutors in the United States, NDAA the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) is dedicated to supporting the prosecution profession and advancing justice for all.

Prosecutors play a critical role in the criminal justice system by representing the people in criminal cases. They work to ensure that justice is served by holding accountable those who violate the law and protecting the rights and safety of victims and communities. The role of a prosecutor is complex and demanding, requiring expertise in law, investigation, advocacy, and public policy.

NDAA serves as a national membership association that provides training, technical assistance, and services to prosecutors across the country. Our mission is to be the voice of America’s prosecutors and to support their efforts to protect the rights and safety of the people. We are committed to ensuring that our members have the knowledge, skills, and support they need to carry out their important work.

As a member, prosecutors have access to a wide range of resources and benefits, including:

  • Training: NDAA offers nearly 100 trainings, conferences, and webinars each year on topics ranging from criminal law and procedure to forensic science and victim advocacy. Our trainings are designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of prosecutors at all levels of experience.
  • Technical Assistance: NDAA provides individualized technical assistance to prosecutors and their offices on a variety of topics, including case strategy, evidence collection, and ethical issues. Our staff of experienced attorneys is available to provide guidance and support to prosecutors across the country.
  • Publications: NDAA produces a variety of publications, including books, manuals, newsletters, and monographs, on topics and trends in the field of prosecution. Our publications are designed to provide prosecutors with the information they need to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the law.
  • Advocacy: NDAA advocates on behalf of prosecutors at the national level, providing expert policy advice, data, and testimony to Congress and the Executive Branch on a wide variety of criminal justice issues. We also provide amicus curiae briefs to the United States Supreme Court and engage on judicial decisions that impact the work of prosecutors throughout the country.

NDAA is proud to serve as a nationwide, interdisciplinary resource center for research, training, knowledge building, and accountability in support of the prosecution profession. We are committed to ensuring that justice is achieved for the millions of Americans who rely on our members.
