Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney / Conviction Review Unit (CRU)
Arlington County and the City of Falls Church (Virginia)
Commonwealth’s Attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti is seeking a full-time, limited duration Conviction Review Attorney to dedicate a year to investigating convictions obtained by the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney that may have been based on questionable testimony and/or evidence.
Salary is $97,052 but negotiable based on experience. Flexibility provided for teleworking in addition to VRS, medical/dental, and other benefits.
Conviction review is a specialized process that involves the following specific duties:
The ideal candidate has a JD from an accredited college of university and at least three years’ experience in the legal field or other law enforcement filed, preferably with knowledge of and experience in criminal law and procedure.
Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
Successful completion of a background check is required. This is an at-will position that serves at the pleasure of the Commonwealth’s Attorney.
